Somewhat impressed with the WWDC keynote

I’m not a developer, but I’m quite impressed with Apple’s plans of what will end up being OS X Yosemite and iOS 8.
There are some really nice features coming.
I’m also wondering, which overall user-experience will be worse: installing Yosemite on my 2008 iMac (if it’s supported at all) or iOS 8 on my iPhone 4GS (which is supported).
Thank god, there’s the maxed-out 2012 MacMini 😉

So, there’s no hardware news – which is quite unsurprising in retrospect: Apple really wanted this one to be about the software and only the software – period.

I still don’t believe that they’re going to implode if they don’t release the “iWatch” next week. Or some other “iThing”.
There’s no need to rush something in this market.
I’m reminded of the quote from Lois Pasteur: “Chance favors the prepared mind”.
Apple likes to be prepared.

How poetic

Today marks 3333 days since I started to work at the place I still work. Technically, at least. The company got acquired, the staff moved – but I still have my original contract and I still get the salary from them, the monthly pay-slip comes with the same letter-head.
Ironically, I spent the day sitting at home, sick.
